- BRAMM was set up in 2004 to establish a recognised uniform standard of work to meet the requirements of BS 8415 in all burial grounds.
- There is no charge to Burial Authorities to join the Register, and by doing so you are making a significant step towards making cemeteries safer places for the visiting public, and for Memorial Masons working on site.
- By registering with BRAMM you commit to ensuring that Memorial Masons fixing (or re-fixing) memorials are also registered with BRAMM (or equivalent). Memorial Masons are required to undertake an assessment of their work prior to joining the Register and are issued with photo ID licences.
- BRAMM maintains a register of accredited Memorial Masons for the benefit of all the Burial Authorities in Great Britain. The database is freely available to access on our website: BRAMM – The British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons.
- BRAMM recommends your cemetery Rules and Regulations clearly states that all memorials must be fixed to the current edition of BS 8415, including refixing after interment.
- BRAMM is focused on improving standards and is proud to say that there have been no recorded injuries or fatalities involving memorials fixed by BRAMM registered Fixers to BS 8415 since the Register began.
- BRAMM offers free advice to Burial Authorities if concerns are raised about the safety of a memorial.
- BRAMM will endeavour to resolve any issues between the memorial mason and the Burial Authority to ensure a memorial is erected correctly and is safe.
